Building the B-17

Taking a "Sentimental Journey"
The B-17 started out in 2001 as a thought on my way home from work. After a short search for a kit builder on the internet, Joseph Saitta came forward and offered to do the plans, kit, and foam cores for me.

The plane will be modeled after a WWII combat B-17, "Sentimetal Journey". The plane will be flown and displayed on a charity basis for special local school events, the DARE program, the Special Olympics, sponsor events, and other charitable events.

Special Thanks
Special thanks to Pam and Tanner for always supporting me and understanding. The two of you have always been in my heart and by my side. Special thanks to Joseph Saitta for making this possible. He enlarged the plans and cut the kit for me and provided lots of help. Thanks also goes out to Bob Godfrey for the foam wings. Special thanks to Mac Hodges for supplying the hardware and technical info. Special thanks to Jack Durre and David Johnson for all of the technical support. Also a special thanks for Jim Soos, Tom Karnes, and Marty Steiner for reference data for the nose and tail art.

I would also like to thank the individuals and local business sponsors who have helped make this plane possible. I would have never been able to do this without you're support:
